Why? (Prose Poem with audio.)

“Why me? Why this? Why now?”

Is what you ask when problems assault you.

You arm yourself with blame for everyone else but you.

You assume you’re always close but no cigar.

Maybe you are not meant to reach the stars.

You shoot yourself in the foot, giving up without a fight.

Obstacles bring you to your knees; you feel discouraged and freeze.

Stop making a victim out of yourself.

Face the truth and don’t chicken out.

Many wished they were in your place.

Change the game and engage.

There’s a time for everyone; life puts us all in turn.

Beat the enemy within; it’s the hardest battle.

Don’t ask why you anymore; you’re through with this.

The strength you seek outside is hidden in plain sight inside of you.
